Infused detox water or mineral water made of water mixed with fruit pieces. This drink became popular because it is claimed to bring a lot of benefits. But is it so?
Ever see people carrying mineral water bottles filled with slices of lemon or other fruits? As it was called with the infused water. Infused water made by adding pieces of fruit into a bottle of mineral water. Lately, water infused popular and become part of the lifestyle because it is believed to bring many health benefits for the body. In fact, these claims may not be entirely true. Here are some of the claims about the benefits of water infused along with the facts.
Means detox and tricks accelerate the body's metabolism
Pieces lemon inserted and consumed with mineral water claimed as a means of detoxification for the body. Detox idea comes from the belief that toxins can accumulate in the body and with a special diet or detox, these toxins can be eliminated. But there is no evidence that toxins accumulate in the body over time, because if so, the body will often sick. Diet or detox diet has not been proven clinically useful for the body.
Anti-aging
Mineral water combined with fruits rich in antioxidants, such as pomegranate and strawberries, is considered to be a powerful means against the effects of aging. Antioxidants are useful to counteract the free radicals that are bad for the body. Eating lots of fruits and vegetables showed positive results in inhibiting the aging process.
Infused drinking water can provide more benefit in anti-aging compared to drinking water only. But if you want to maximize the amount of antioxidants in their daily diet, do not limit infused fruit submerged in water alone. Eat a variety of fruits and vegetables directly as well.
Losing weight is becoming more ideal
Eating infused water is claimed to be able to lose weight. But there has been no medical studies clearly prove that claim. The ideal weight is best achieved with regular exercise and a healthy diet. But it is by consuming more water or infused water a person can feel full faster so that portions of food can be reduced.
Although not yet proven the health benefits, it does not mean infused water at all profitable. These drinks are useful, especially for people who do not like to consume water and children who do not like to eat fruits.
People who do not like drinking water usually meet their fluid needs with beverages such as coffee, tea, or soft drinks. Though some of these drinks tend to make the body become more fluid depletion due to its caffeine content. Additionally, these drinks, especially bottled drinks were expensive and generally contain high levels of sugar and calories compared with mineral water.
With infused water, they can consume mineral water with a variety of different flavors that can be changed every day in accordance with the selection of the desired fruits. The following are some of the menus that can be tried.
Prepare 1 lemon, thinly sliced cucumber and a half, 15 grams of mint leaves, put in 3 liters of water. Stir, cover tightly, and store in the refrigerator for 2-3 days. Make sure the water is not too sour infused. If sour, add water.
Prepare one liter of water, 6 strawberries into pieces, and 225 grams of pineapple slices. Enter strawberries and pineapple in the water, stir, cover tightly, and store in the refrigerator.

Infused water may be a middle ground for those who do not like to consume water. Make sure your body fluid needs are met by consuming at least two liters of fluid per day. Consume enough fluids, either plain water or water infused essential for the normal functioning of the body and prevent dehydration. Additionally, it will keep the kidneys healthy and avoid conditions such as kidney stones, constipation and hemorrhoids.
